Review: Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion and Gentle Skin Cleanser

Cetaphil is a brand of skin care products commonly found in drugstores in the old US of A, where it seems to be a big deal with beauty bloggers and youtubers. According to the website it is " The #1 Dermatologist and Pediatrician recommended brand of cleansers and moisturisers" and the amount of reviews singing its praises meant I had to pick some up for myself when I was over in Chicago last year.

I'll keep the review part short and sweet, as I absolutely adore both of these products. I have dry skin,that borders on combination so finding the right products can be tricky. The cleanser can be used with or without water and removes all traces of make-up and dirt, without leaving my skin feeling dry or causing any blemishes. I like to massage it into my face them remove with damp cotton pads. The moisturizing lotion is quite thick, and manages to keep my normally flaky forehead hydrated without leaving the rest of my face looking greasy. It takes a little while to sink in and does leave a slight residue but I've found this doesn't interfere with foundation application.

Both these products are suitable for use all over the body, and for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin, however I would have a look at the ingredients list as it seems they are jam packed with preservatives and chemically ingredients. For me, these rather plan looking products do the job of cleansing my skin and keeping it perfectly hydrated, without upsetting it and the practical packaging and size means these turned out to be excellent value for money.

Cetaphil is widely available in the US, and they have a variety of products. I picked up these large bottles from CVS, and paid around $11 before tax for each bottle. Here in the UK Cetaphil is still a widely unheard of brand, however the smaller sizes of both these products can be found in some Boots stores and pharmacists.

Review: Sleek Blush in Flamingo

Amazingly pigmented products at great prices and with the i-Devine palettes being sold-out in almost every Superdrug I've ever been in, it's safe to say that us UK girls(and boys!) love Sleek! I'm a wee bit late on the bandwagon with this product but I thought I'd ~~review~~ rave about it anyway!

Flamingo looks rather alarmingly bright in the pan, but after swatching it, and getting convinced by my lovely pal Steph, I snapped it up and I haven't regretted it at all! Soft without being chalky, this blends like a dream. It's unbelievably long lasting, and the pigmentation is insane so a tiny bit is enough to give my pale skin a nice pop of colour.

I can't wait to try more of the Sleek blushers, they retail at £4.30 from the Sleek website, and are also available in Superdrug.

Review: V05 Treat Me Right Intensive Conditioning Treament

V05(part of the Alberto brand) is easily one of my favourite "drugstore" haircare brands! I've never been disappointed in the products I've purchased and with such reasonable prices, whats not to love? This deep conditioning treatment is no exception, it's bloody marvelous!

Treat Me Right Intensive Conditioning Treatment "contains an essential 5 oil blend" and claims to "leave your damaged hantensely conditioned, strengthened and repaired and left feeling incredibly smooth, silky soft and radiantly shiny".

I have extremely thick normal/greasy hair,but constant styling,washing,brushing and the likes of winter weather can really take their toll and leave it feeling a little dry and dull looking. My hair type did mean I had some reservations when I bought this, hair masks etc can sometimes leave me looking more "10 hour shift down the local chippy" than "sleek,clean and shiny" but this left me with shiny,soft and wonderful smelling locks,amazing!

The product itself is a thick,gloopy off-white cream that,to me anyway, smells like sherbet!!! I usually leave it on for around 5 minutes after shampooing, then rinsing out well and although I haven't been using this long enough to comment on long term effects my hair does seem stronger with less breakage.

The V05 range can be found in most supermarkets, Boots, Superdrug and in some chemists. I paid around £4.30 for this product but the price does vary and I've often found it to be on special offer!

Hello! Hope you all have/had a crackin' Halloween!

I spent Friday night skanking away to The Skarsoles who were fantastic as always, then on Saturday I headed out to the local rockbar for a KISS tribute night! The tribute nights consist of around 50 local musicians,including my flatmate, who get together and blow everybody away!

I went as a dead nurse and a sugar skull!

I won't go into details about make-up, white face paint and MAC blacktrack fluidline was pretty much the staple for mine, my friend Calum and flatmate Kierans last minute costumes!!!

Furnishing my Flat - Ikea Styleeeee

When it comes to interiors, I love plain,practical furniture in netural shades and adding pops of colour using fabric,lighting,artwork and other wee decorative things. I find Ikea is perfect for getting good but cheap basic items, I would never buy something like a wardrobe though from there.

There is just something I love about these, plain and practical shelves. Apart from the obvious of books and dvds, I really want to use these for keeping folded teeshirts on, I hate things being tucked away in drawers and I just can't keep a proper wardrobe tidy!

I can totally see myself sitting in a wee corner, with a reading light like the one below, getting tore in to a good book and drinking tea.

Lersta Floor Lamp - £9.99
I love the slightly retro look about this, and the aluminium finish means it will go with everything, bargain!

I know this was a wee bit boring, but how would you feel about seeing more "Lifestlye and Home" posts on my blog, as well as the usual nonsense when I get back into blogging properly? How do you put a stamp on your home? Are you clean and simple like me or all clutter like my flatmate Kieran whos room resembles an exploding laundry!

Okayyyy so not exactly from today, but rather a few weekends ago! I wish I'd actually took proper pictures of this look but ah well eh?

I'm wearing Sugarpills Buttercupcake and Flamepoint on my eyes, and my foundation is Make Up For Ever HD in shade #117. I'm sorry I can't remember the rest! Oh and thats my flatmate Kieran!

Review: Good Things "Face The Day" Moisturiser

Good Things is a skincare range developed by award winning beauty writer Alice Hart-Davis, using "superfruit beauty boosters" to create "simple,effective and affordable products" aimed to make the most of young skin.

"Face the Day" contains Goji Berry and Papaya extracts, and unfortunately has the most overpowering,fruity scent I have ever come across! It is a light lotion, that skins in easily and does leave my skin feeling smooth however it does nothing for my really dry areas. The box and tube don't state it is for any specific skin type but if,like me, you have dry or dry-combination skin I would stay clear.

"Face the Day" is free from parabens, mineral oils, sodium laureth sulphate and animal ingredients, therfor making it free from any nasty chemicals AND suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It also contains UV filters and, if you can stand the smell, would be great for anyone with normal/oily-combination skin.

What's this?! A post?! ...Who are you again?

...for anyone who has been following my blog, you'll know I've been away for quite a long time, and I decided to have a wee clear out and delete all my old posts and start fresh since I can now dedicate so much more time to blogging properly!

The Beauty Hooligan was originally started as a beauty blog but I feel that isn't really "me" and so from now on TBH will feature a mix of beauty,lifestyle,fashion and general nonsense posts but anywayyys...

Thank you all so much for staying subscribed despite my blogging being utterly crap! I hope to see some new followers and comments on my posts in the future.
